Free Radical Problem
Each day we are exposed to free radicals - unstable
molecules that steal, or "scavenge" electrons from other
molecules. Many of the physical effects we call aging are a
result of free radical damage.
Exposure to free radical activity is a natural part of human
life. However, in today's modern life it is more possible to
become overexposed, and experience greater consequences of
free radical damage.
Environmental pollution, unbalanced diets,
preservatives & additives in processed foods, pesticides in
some non-organic foods, excessive body fat due to
marginal activity, mental stress, and even breathing in
dense municipal environments can increase or create free
radicals in the body.
When left unchecked, free radical damage to your body's
cells accumulates, and can lead to adverse health
conditions, especially in later life. Free radical damage
can cause premature aging, a large factor in the
deterioration of life over time.
How to protect against free radicals
- Eat a balanced diet.
- Avoid pollutions, and
toxins, as much as possible.
- Stop smoking, or avoid
second hand smoke, if you do not smoke.
- Eat a regular well
- Consume at least 5 to 10
servings of fresh fruits and vegetables daily.
- Choose a variety of
deeply colored fruits, and vegetables:
Examples include deep
red, yellow, orange, purple, blue, and green.
The above typically
indicate higher antioxidant content.

- Take a well formulated
nutritional supplement with nutrients in amounts
and varieties as would be found in a
well balanced diet.
